Library Director Search

As was announced in January of this year, Library Director Chris Nolan will be retiring at the end of 2016. The Ridgefield Library Board of Directors formed a Search Committee made up of Board members and other Library supporters and hired Bradbury Associates, a nationally recognized search firm specializing in library executive searches, to assist us in the process. The Bradbury team visited Ridgefield at the end of June to meet with staff, the full Library Board, the Search Committee and community stakeholders.  In addition, the Search Committee held information sessions with Ridgefield residents to gather their thoughts about the library in our community and what to look for in a new director. This collected data became part of the search process.

The position was officially posted, and applications sought, throughout July and August, with the application deadline reached on August 28.  In total, over 30 applications from qualified candidates were received.  The Search Committee will soon begin the process of interviewing candidates, with the intention of hiring a new Director to start in January 2017.

If you have any questions or would like to provide input to the Search Committee feel free to contact us at RLBOD@ridgefieldlibrary.org.
