Featured Programs for Adults
The Big Read: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
The Ridgefield Playhouse in partnership with the Ridgefield Library has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to host The Big Read in Ridgefield, an initiative of the Endowment designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.
To get involved just check out a copy of The Grapes of Wrath at the Library or purchase a discounted copy at Books on the Common and begin reading now. Participate in the many related events coming this fall including book discussions, movies, concerts, art exhibits, lectures, and more.
The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. Click here for more information.
Emily Dickinson Comes to Town!
Join us in September for three unforgettable programs featuring award-winning actor, author and playwright Barbara Dana. The first two are free and take place at the Library. The third is the not-to-be-missed performance of William Luce's Broadway play about the life of Emily Dickinson. This one-woman play will take place at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Tickets are $25, $35, $45, $10 (students).
Power Girls: Joan of Arc and Emily Dickinson
with author and actress Barbara Dana
This program is aimed at middle and high school girls and would also be of great interest to women's groups, although anyone with an interest is welcome to attend.
