Children's Summer Reading 2017

June 21 through July 30
For children going into Kindergarten through Grade 5

Children going into kindergarten through fifth grade may join the Summer Reading Program by coming into the Library to sign up or by registering online.  Log your reading online, and stop by the Library to pick up your reward and another armload of books, audiobooks, Playaways, or choose an eBook or audiobook online and download in seconds.

Organized Summer Reading activities run through August 5th, but children can continue to record their reading and earn prizes until the day before school starts.

Use our convenient online registration and reading log system.

STARTING June 21st, you can log into the program from anywhere you have the Internet - at home, at the Library, on vacation, even from a Smartphone. It's fast - it's easy - it's green!  Our new reading log software also has games and bonus challenges to add to your fun.

Summer Reading Program volunteers and staff members will also be standing by at the Library to help you log your reading, give out prizes and listen to you talk about your reading.

  • Children must read at least one book before beginning the program.
  • If a book has 100 or more pages, it counts as two books, 200 or more pages as three books, etc.
  • Audiobooks count as books.
  • You can even print out a handy copy of all your reading to bring to school at the end of the summer.
